SUMMER HOLIDAY CLUBS for children starting school in September

We are running holiday clubs at Horizons Youth Centre, Churchdown on Mondays 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd August, from 11.00am - 1.15pm. The sessions comprise of acitve games, football-themed crafts, activities, football mini-matches, picnic lunchtime (packed lunch required). Sessions are NOW OPEN TO ANYONE. You can also bring a friend. Parents do NOT have to remain on site (but can if they prefer to). £12 per session (£42.00 for all 4) for Members etc, £15 per session (£52 all 4) for non-members. Limited places - please contact us ASAP.

SCHOOL STARTERS COURSE AUTUMN 2010

The school starters course for SupaStrikers members who are starting school in 2010 is now provisionally full. However, we are looking at running a second course on Saturday mornings. Therefore, please contact us on 01452 555202 if you are interested in receiving details of this.

If you are wishing to book a place for your child from September, places will be available as follows to those who are not already members:

MiniStrikers (d.o.b up to 28/02/2008) - Session times and venues from September are shown on our 'Times & Venues' page (for Saturday session, please telephone to ensure there is a place before sending in your booking and payment) For children born on or after 01/03/2008, please contact us after 1st August 2010 to discuss a trial session.

MegaStrikers (d.o.b. 01/09/06-31/08/07) - available places now on sale

FREE PLAYGROUP/TODDLER GROUP TASTER SESSIONS DURING AUTUMN TERM:

If you run either a Playgroup or a Mums & Toddlers group, we may be able to offer you a FREE 45 minute taster session. You will need a hall-sized area and must have a minimum of 12 children who would take part. If you qualify for a free taster, all we ask in return is that you display one of our A4 posters on your notice board AND give one of our fliers to each of your members. We also offer ongoing visits, with prices per visit ranging from £35-£45 depending upon frequency etc.

ABOUT SUPASTRIKERS

Established by Andy Tucker Soccer Camps in 2006, we have already had over 2000 members attending weekly sessions, Playgroup sessions and birthday parties. There are three main reasons you can join SupaStrikers with 100% confidence:

PATA supporting childcare logo No. 1 Genuine expertise in working with this age group. We are members of PATA, a national organisation who support those working with younger children to ensure high standards. Our approach will complement that of good playgroups and nurseries etc. We only employ coaches who genuinely WANT to work with this age group. In addition to football courses, all of our coaches complete specialist training courses to develop their expertise in working with these age groups. Where possible, we usually work with a maximum ratio of 1 Coach:6 Children* and most of our groups are maximum of 12 children (Saturday sessions run at larger venues with higher numbers, although the coaching ratio is maintained). We also ensure that children are only with others of a very similar age.

* When there are 8 or fewer children at a new venue, we may run with only one

coach until membership numbers increase

No. 2 Attached to ongoing Football programmes. Each SupaStrikers Licensed Coach or Franchise-owner either operates or is in association with a high-quality football coaching programme aimed at school-aged children. This means that as our SupaStrikers members become too old for us, there is always a 'natural progression' route for them to continue enjoying their football development. For many Members in Gloucestershire, the link is still to Andy Tucker Soccer Camps, who originated SupaStrikers.

Former Cheltenham Town captain, John Finnigan is enthusiastic about SupaStrikers, saying, “There are fewer English players playing in the premiership, as they do not have the technical skills to compete with the best players from abroad. I really believe that programmes such as SupaStrikers will help produce more homegrown talent playing at the highest levels. I wish SupaStrikers had been around when I was a child!”.
