SupaStrikers is a soccer-based activity session for children aged 2-4 years, which takes the form of weekly INDOOR sessions. As well as learning core football and movement skills, children also develop their awareness of shapes, colours, simple numbers and social skills. Depending upon their age and physical capability, children belong to either MiniStrikers or MegaStrikers (pre-school year). We are affiliated to Gloucestershire PATA (Playgroup and Toddler Association). Our coaching teams are CRB-checked and have genuine experience of working with this age group, as well as football coaching skills. We work with a maximum group size of 12-16 children of a similar age (depending upon the venue), to ensure individual attention for each child (maximum ratio is 6 children per coach).
Therefore:
- If your child was born between 01/09/2004 and 31/08/2005, please contact us to discuss joining MEGASTRIKERS from September (subject to availability)
- If your child was born between 01/09/2005 and 28/02/2006, please contact us to discuss joining MINISTRIKERS from September (subject to availability) on a confirmed booking basis
- If your child was born between 01/03/2006 and 31/08/2006*, please contact us to arrange a trial visit to a MINSTRIKERS session as soon as a place is available. (age bands updated 6th August 2008)
NB that for September enrolments, payment and a completed enrolment form is required to reserve a place, although our Money-Back Guarantee applies if you change your mind up to 7 days after your first session (see our information pack for full details of Money-Back Guarantee).
* If your child is under two and a half years, rather than us accepting a confirmed booking, you will be invited to attend a trial session as soon after the start of term as a place is potentially available. This is in order that parents, coaches (and child!) can determine whether SupaStrikers is right for your child at that point in time or whether it is better to delay starting for a little while. We take this approach to ensure that each child is ready for the structured nature of our sessions and therefore enjoys coming - this may mean that the start date you are hoping for is not immediately available.
We believe children learn best through having fun, therefore, our sessions are lively and interactive. Stability within the group is also important, therefore, we operate on a membership basis to ensure that the children see familiar faces each time. Parents/Carers are encouraged to join in, especially with the younger MiniStrikers. The programme and equipment are specifically designed for this age group, and there is no ‘heavy’ coaching. However, members will learn lots of skills that will really benefit their future physical and sporting development. Progression to the main Andy Tucker Soccer Camps (or to one of our partner organisations) will be a natural next step for many members.
