SupaStrikers was started in Gloucestershire in 2006 by Andy Tucker and Brian & Marion Trott. Andy and Brian already had over 15 years joint experience coaching childrens' football, whilst Marion had many years experience in leading Early Years work. They have since been joined by Andy's wife Carolyn, who brings many years of senior administration expertise, gained at the British Embassy in Paris.
SupaStrikers now has over 11 years' experience in providing football fun for children aged 2-5 years, which takes the form of weekly indoor sessions. As well as learning core football and movement skills, children also develop their awareness of shapes, colours, simple numbers and social skills such as listening, sharing and teamwork.
We are members of PATA UK, a national organisation who support those working with younger children to ensure high standards. Our approach will complement that of good playgroups and nurseries etc. In addition to football courses, all of our coaches complete specialist training courses to develop their expertise in working with these age groups.
Where possible, we usually work with a maximum ratio of 1 Coach: 6 Children* and most of our groups are a maximum of 12 children (Weekend sessions run at larger venues with higher numbers, although the coaching ratio is maintained).
We believe children learn best through having fun, therefore our sessions are lively and interactive. Stability within the group is also important, therefore, we operate on a membership basis to ensure that the children see familiar faces each time.
Parents/Carers are encouraged to join in, especially with the younger MiniStrikers. The programme and equipment are specifically designed for this age group, and there is no ‘heavy’ coaching. However, members will learn lots of skills that will really benefit their future physical and sporting development.
If you advise the Coach at the end of your first session that you do not wish to continue, he/she will inform us and you will receive a full refund within 28 days (provided you have not received your child's football kit). If you change your mind after you have received the football kit and left the session, you can notify us by letter or email before your next session is due to start and we will not take your first monthly Direct Debit payment. We would advise that you cancel the Direct Debit as we cannot actually do this on your behalf. We would not refund the Lifetime Membership Fee once you have taken the kit, but no further payments will be due to SupaStrikers even if your child joined in their first session.
